The Lion King Special Platinum Edition offers the highest quality digital presentation with enhanced picture available and has been meticulously and painstakingly reformatted one frame at a time, working from the film’s original digitally stored files.

Led by the original filmmaking team from Disney’s famed Feature Animation division, a group of Disney’s top artists and technicians launched a major effort to remove dust and dirt, add detail and provide the home viewer with a digital picture and sound that is the finest possible.

Concerning the new Song "Morning Report" , the legendary team of singer/songwriter Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice contribute the new song "Morning Report" on an alternate version of the film, with never-before-seen animation produced and directed by the original Feature Animation Lion King team.

Their outstanding contributions include such beloved songs as the buoyant "Hakuna Matata," the upbeat "Just Can’t Wait To Be King" and the majestic song "The Circle of Life."

The story is about a Lion named Mufasa that rules over his kingdom and try to teach his son Simba on how to become the next future king. Simba loves his father very much and can not wait to be the future king until his uncle Scar killed his father and makes Simba beleived that it is his fault.

Simba very sad and felling unworthy of the his Thrown runs away and hangs out in the jungle with his new friends Timon and Pumbaa.

And that is where Simba will try to forget about his past but is unexpectingly called thanks to his friend and future wife Nala to rise up and fight for what belongs to him and will finally learn that he had nothing to do with his father's death.

The animation is made like a real movie. You will be able to experience special effects in the animation like sunlight effect and in and out of focus from foreground to the background like now you see the ants on a branch then they will switch focus on the zebras below.

The film was originally titled King of the Jungle.
More than 600 artists, animators, and technicians contributed to The Lion King and more than 1 million drawings were created for the film, which is made up of 1,197 hand-painted backgrounds and 119,058 individually colored frames of film.
When production began, an art team traveled to Africa to search for ways to best present the African settings in the film. Animators also studied live lions and other animals that were brought to the studio.
The film has been translated into 32 languages, from Swedish to Zulu.
