NewKidCo Announces 2001 Video Game Lineup Spotlighting Sports and Adventure

New Video Game Titles Featuring Favorite Kid Franchises Reflect Kids' Interest in More Interactive, Animated Action

    NewKidCo International Inc. (OTC BB: NKCIF; TSE: NKC) announced today the company's 2001 all-star lineup of hand-held and console video game titles produced especially for kids.
    NewKidCo's eagerly awaited new titles feature all-time kid favorite characters and properties including Tom and Jerry(TM), Disney's Goofy, the lovable Dragon Tales(TM) and Sesame Street(TM) crews, as well as a full lineup of titles based on E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, in advance of the 2002 twentieth anniversary release of America's most beloved family movie of all-time - featuring new, never-before-seen footage and digitally enhanced character artwork.

    "Our 2001 lineup is the most exciting and groundbreaking video game series we've offered to date", said Henry Kaplan, Chief Executive Officer of NewKidCo. "Our new titles offer kids competitive game play and great video game action, the two things that all game players desire."

    NewKidCo will preview and hold personal and group demonstrations for its 2001 Lineup at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the epicenter of the interactive entertainment industry, taking place May 17-19, 2001 in Los Angeles.     Here's a sneak peak at the titles scheduled for preview and demos at E3 in May and their expected release dates:

    Disney's Goofy's Fun House (PlayStation(R)One) -May 2001
    Kids will have a goofy good time as they search all over Goofy's house, yard and throughout town to collect missing items and be rewarded with 6 full-length classic Goofy cartoons. Includes five mini games...golfing, skiing, fishing and more.

    Sesame Street Sports (PlayStation One and Game Boy(R)Color) - June 2001/July 2001
    It's sports-action made just for kids! Sesame Street Sports combines the excitement of big kids' extreme sports video games with age appropriate controls and three skill levels for young children.

    E.T.: Digital Planner (Game Boy Color) - August 2001
    E.T.: Digital Planner combines the best features of today's leading PDA's with animation, pictures, color, music, games and fun... all with an extra terrestrial "techno feel."

    E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (Game Boy(R)Advance) - September 2001
    E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial brings kids the entire E.T. adventure! It all begins with E.T. stranded in the forest at night, being chased by government agents and ends with him being picked up by his long over-due spaceship and saying good-bye to his new friend Elliot.

    E.T.: Escape from Planet Earth (Game Boy Color) - October 2001
    E.T.: Escape from Planet Earth is an action-adventure and puzzle game which features both E.T. and Elliot working together to find the necessary parts to build a transmitter that will enable E.T. to "phone home."

    E.T.: Interplanetary Adventure (PlayStation One) - October 2001
    E.T.: Interplanetary Adventure features E.T. being sent to various planets, across the galaxy, to deal with environmental emergencies threatening each planet's existence.

    E.T. & The Cosmic Garden (Game Boy Color) - October 2001
    E.T. & The Cosmic Garden is a real-time adventure game in which E.T. manages a space-age botanical laboratory. He must learn to deal with a host of "unique" inhabitants (some friendly and some not so friendly), mechanical failures and a variety of other unpredictable intergalactic challenges.

    Tom and Jerry: The Magic Ring (Game Boy Advance) - October 2001
    Based on Warner Bros. much anticipated video release of the same name, Tom and Jerry's first outing on Game Boy Advance combines combat and story modes for two unique types of game play.

    Dragon Tales Adventures (Game Boy Color) - September 2001
    It's off to Dragon Land in this magical "gentle adventure" game featuring all the things kids love best about this top ranked PBS show... like flying, wishing, exploration, having fun with friends and obtaining goals.

    During E3 2001, NewKidCo will also preview some titles from its 2002 lineup - a new, power-packed variety that feature some of the most familiar and best loved characters - each possessing universal appeal! Here's a sneak peak at a few of the titles for first half of 2002:

    Tom and Jerry in the Big Brawl (PlayStation(R)2) - expected release March 2002
    This beat-em-up incorporates a sense of humor rarely seen in video games and features multiple highly interactive themed arenas and eleven crazy characters from this Oscar winning cartoon series.

    E.T.: Return to the Green Planet (PlayStation 2) - expected release March 2002
    E.T.: Return to the Green Planet is based on a story that was the inspiration for what was to be the sequel to on E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. This adventure follows E.T. as he returns to his home planet and soon realizes that things are not that same as they used to be, before he traveled to Earth and met his new friend Elliot.

    E.T. & The Cosmic Garden (PlayStation 2) - expected release July 2002
    The Cosmic Garden is a real-time adventure game, which features E.T. trying to collect 128 of the most unique, most mischievous, most amazing plants from around the galaxy. He then must grow these plants in his spacecraft's green house, while being very careful not to improperly "crossbreed" any that could result in the creation of a disastrous new species.

    For the second half of 2002, the Company plans to continue to extend it's popular portfolio of characters to next-generation video game systems including, Microsoft's XBox and Nintendo's GameCube, as well as continuing to develop additional titles for Game Boy Advance, PlayStation One and PlayStation 2.
