DRIVER 2

The original Driver sold more the 4.5 millions units world wide and now Reflections and Infogrames brings us Driver 2 with already 1.2 millions units pre-sold the second one will sell even more units and here is why.

Tanner is back to do more undercover cop work. This time he goes after the head of the Brazilian mob Alvaro Vasquez who has join forces with his U.S. crimelord rival Solomon Caine therefore shifting the power in the underworld. To stop this international underworld war, Tanner will have the help of Tobias Jones an other undercovered cop and will travel this time through new cities like Chicago, Havana, Rio de Janeiro and Las Vegas.

The first thing they did was taking off the test drive at the beginning of the story so you can be plunge right away into it. Not only you can drive right away but you will have to get in and out of your car during your missions for defferent reason like meeting someone else in their car.

2 Player mode

The other main change is the addition of a multiplayer mode that is divided in 4 gameplay: Take a Ride, Checkpoint racing, Cops & Rubers where one can chase the other and Capture the Flag is also quite chalenging because everytime you hit your oppenent's car you steal the flag.

In the single mode you have 6 gameplay and they have removed the Dirt Track for the Get Race where you have to run over cones instead of in between them. This mode is very interesting to play since we always been told not to run over cones in real life and in this game it is a must.

Other new interesting features is your screen will now have 2 gauges one for the damage that you are taking while you are driving the other is new and called the Felony where the more you commit like runnning a red light, destroying properties, scaring pedestrians with your car and horn or driving on the sidewalk. The more Felony you commit the more ferously the cops will go after you.

Downtown

Tanner

More colors and type of cars are also available to drive with.

This time the road is fill with many defferent type of trucks like school bus and firefighter.

The sound effects and soundtrack can be turned to the level that you want and has defferent artist like Dust Junkies, Etta James, Sonny Boy Williamson, Hound Dog Taylor & The House Rockers, Kenny Rodgers and Mozart.

The cities are well designed with 150 000 building and 20 miles of road to drive on but the graphics is were it lacks with many draw in you will sometime drive very fast straight on while you are being chased then poof a dead end a building is in front of you and you must decide fast if go left or right but sometimes the chase is to close so you break as you see the building but then bang the cops runs into you after a while you get used to it but the first time it is quite a surprising shock. But the accident and cars are very well designed and clear to see. The cinematics between missions are well done too.

The improve engin will make you notice right away when you start playing that the cops are much smarter. Like they will come besine you if you slow down in order to run you off the road. Survival mode is even more spectacular has you can see them slide in to you much quicker and they will attack you on all front.

Chinatown

The accident also of more spectacular to see like if you rub metal on metal long enought you will see the sparkling metal fly up in the air.

Like you can see Driver 2 is even better then the first one and this time your friend can participate with you instead of just whaching you all this makes Driver 2 is an other must own title in your collection.
