All the most powerful cars in one game!

Need For Speed is one of the best racing games out there today. Developed and distributed by Electronic Arts they did a great job on it.This new version has some new features to keep the Need For Speed fans excited and at the same time they kept the basics of it the same.

In the new version, you have to buy your race car to use them in the principal mode of the game, the tournaments. Each tournament that you win gives you some money to upgrade, repair or buy a new car. In the different tournaments, the cars needed to race are different and the amount of money paid too.

There is also some difference in the tracks. For example you can race on a icy road or in the middle of the night. When you race in the night and that you make an crash you can lose one or your two lights. That increase a lot the difficulty.

You also have the special events. In these section you will find the old knockout challenge of the third Need For Speed. Those specials events have a cost to enter but the payoffs are bigger. They can demand a certain type of car or even let you race in the traffic.

When you finish some races and tournaments you can then play them in the 2 players mode and go to the next one. You can race in different ways, like driving backwards on some tracks. You have the mirror option that let you change all the curves side. Also there is the hot pursuit of the third edition but now you can use the police cars and catch the speeders.

In the police cars you can drive the Lamborghini Diablo SV with the regional police colors. In addition to those cars there is ten other cars. Some examples, the BMW Z3, two Ferrari, two Mercedes and one Mclaren F1 GTR. This last one is unavailable until you win a lot of races. But the most exciting mode of the game is of

Be careful the police is after you

Drive a Corvette at night

course the High Stakes one where you race to win your challenger car or lose yours. But be advised that everything was made to stop cheaters. The cars are remove from the memory cards at the beginning of the race. You can always save it on an other card but that is cheating.

When you make a jump with your car because of the road design, your car wont get damage, you will simply land perfectly ready to continue your way. When you race in a city your framerate is lower then if you race in the woods so the image quality is lower too. The last tracks are very difficult so any little mistakes from you and your out of there which can be very frustrating at times.

Something unfair is that in the hot pursuit with the computer, it can call backup and make some police wall to stop you. But when you play in the two players mode it is not possible. The sounds effects and the music are very good. The music goes with this game style. The vibration function puts you in the race and add some realism.

The mode High Stakes is very amusing, especially when you win. Graphics are good and you have a great choice of cars then you can choose between three camera angle, but the first which is behind the wheel of the car always gives you a better view. You can also look in the back in your rear view mirror which adds with the realism of the play. The realism of the statistics of these cars is very good, you have really the impression to drive the vehicle. Moreover you have the choice to go in a room to listen to all the information in connection with your vehicle. And best of all you can give your car a paint job.

Need For Speed: High Stakes is a very good racing game, you have really the feeling of speed and true control of the superb cars like the Corvette.
