Prepare yourself to make malicious jumps!

Developed and published entirely by Konami, Silent Hill is very close to Resident Evil (Capcom) but contains a more mature history and more realistic characters as well as a good amount of horror.

The intrigue starts in the small town of Silent Hill, Harry Mason (you) travel there with his daughter (Cheryl) for a well deserved holidays. But, on is way, an accident happen when it tries to avoid a passer which crossed the street. When Harry regains consciousness he is all alone in its jeep and Cheryl is not at his sides any more. While staggering out of the wreck car, Harry finds its way towards the city to find is daughter.

While arriving in Silent Hill, you realize that something is very wrong, the city is deserted and a thick fog prevents you from seeing very far. While exploring your surounding you soon see a small silhouette in the fog which could very well be Cheryl. You soon find yourselves in a dark alley and be prepare to have your hearthbeat going up. I will let you discover the rest but you do not want to play this game alone in the dark, that much i can tell you.

The controls in Silent Hill can be very confusing and request a little patience.

"Oh, what a lovely gargoyle ! "

"Down boy down !"

You see to go foward it is necessary to press upward all the time, even if your moving right or left, which can create confusion in the moments of panics!

The graphics are well but without being extravageant since you never see very far ahead and that the majority of textures are gray-black-brown.

What is fantastic with Silent Hill it is the story and the feeling this game give you. The game does not leave you alone at any moment and your always on the edge or your seat, something which I did not feel since Resident Evil 1.

For example, at the beginning of the game, you find a radio which informs you when a monster is close. The problem is that often, you do not see the monster until it is in your face, Hello Mr Panic! Another interesting feature is that with a Dual Shock controller you feel Harry's hearthbeat.

Therefore if you seek a very good game in the style of Resident Evil and who will give you a good fun, enter the world of Silent Hill!
