Be prepare to explore the jungle !

After bringing us A Bug's Life from the Disney movie, Sony give us this second movie title game from Disney Interactive: Tarzan. Developed by Eurocom and with Phil Collins doing the background music, this is a very interesting game to play.

Tarzan is an orphan of the jungle that was rescued by Kala a female gorilla and she adopted him as her own. Kerchak the male leader of the ape family thought of Tarzan as danger but still he let Kala raised him. Tarzan made friends with Terk an other ape and Tantor an elephant. So Tarzan grew up learning skills from the animals and wanted to be the best ape ever.

One day Sabor the leopard attack Kerchak and Tarzan saved him and finally got the respect he always wanted from Kerchak. So just when Tarzan finally gets accepted by the ape, he hears gun shot. That was the human coming in his jungle. From that moment on, Tarzan's life will never be the same.

Tarzan is a 3D action platform game. You take the role of Tarzan mostly but in certain levels you will be Jane or Terk. All together you have 14 levels, with bonus levels for each and even bonus levels for the bonus levels, so many hours of gameplay.

When you start your game you can choose from 3 levels of play, to put the sound on or off, and the part of the movie you want to see. When you begin your first level you will be a young Tarzan the more you advance in the game the more you'll grow.

As you explore each level you will meet some friends like Terk, Tantor, Professor Porter, Kala, Kerchak and Jane. You will encounter hazardous animals, birds, and plants that will help you and animals that make you jump higher. Or ones that will decrease your life span like the monkeys that roll down a tree on you or birds running into you while your up in trees.

" Play as Terk."

"Swim in the jungle."

But your enemies are Sabor the leopard and the humans like Clayton.

Throughout your exploration on each level you will pick-up different objects, such as Tokens, after each 100 you get a free life. You will also pick up bananas that will increase your energy level. Fruit of different colors to make the hazardous animals disappear and some weapons like the knife or Jane's Parasol. If you pick up all the letters from the Tarzan name you get a free movie to see and if you get all the 4 pieces of an ape sketch you get a bonus level.

Only one player can play the game, two or more players would have increased the gameplay. Since it is in the jungle practically everything is green and you must look carefully or else you might fall off a cliff or miss the vine or the rope to swing from. All levels are not the same, some are harder then others like the Stampede level where a bunch of elephants are running in the back of you and you must get out of the way and fast or they will run you over.

The graphics are quite nice, since the back of it is fixed and where you move advances. It gives you the 3D effect feeling but it is in 2D. The music is done by Phil Collins, and, of course, the drum is primary in it and gives you the jungle feeling.

Tarzan is a good game where you have original moves like swinging over cliffs with vine or surfing on trees while knocking baboons off it. If you like Tarzan this is a must. It keeps the tradition from the movie of not hurting the animals, even when you throw them fruit they disappear in a bunch of multicolor butterflies.
