Get Ready to Wrestle !

Iguana and Acclaim have worked together to bring us the long awaited title WWF Attitude. WWF Attitude is the follow-up to WWF War Zone, 1998’s big wrestling hit, and has people all over the world wanting to get into the ring. With WWF Attitude it seems like you’re actually there. This game was so awaited for that it pre- sold about 200,000 copies before the game was even released.

The introduction features one of the most fun parts of the of the game, watching about a minute of the WWF show. they have put together highlights of the best and coolest moves from different wrestlers, packed into about a one minute sequence. Very interesting to watch if you are a fan.

One of the main features includes having around 20 modes of play. A few of them are: training mode, house show, Pay Per View, Exhibition, Career Mode, King of the Ring, and many more. In Pay Per View you can select match ups, Title vs. Non-Title matches, Specialty Matches and WWF PPV events. Career Mode sets you up against all the wrestlers one by one. King of the ring is a battle to see who is the best in the ring. The time can be set anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes or you can have an unlimited match.

Another thing that adds to the realism of this game is the ability to win any of 7 title belts. Some of those are Tag Team, Light Heavy weight, Inter-Continental, European, Women's Belt, Worlds Heavyweight and Hard Core.

Many match options add to the already enjoyable game. These are: Hard-core , where you can use weapons for the match, Cage Match: where you fight into a cage, Last Man Standing: you win if you are the one that is up before the 10 count, Falls Count Anywhere: Players can be pinned outside of ring, Toughman Match: This is an option that is used with the 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 game modes. If toughman is on the disadvantaged wrestler must pin all of his opponents not just 1, Iron Man Match: Turns the match into most pins within a specific match length. I Quit Match: You only win if the other submit only, Finisher Only: Can win by using finisher move only, 2 out of 3 falls: Must win 2 of the pins to take the match First Blood: First wrestler to bleed loses.

You can and should create your own wrestler that in itself is almost a game it will take you over an hour if you look at all the option to create your wrestler but an hour well worth spending. You will be able to customize your wrestler's gender, strength, endurance, costume, body type, entrances, moves, and taunts. You will will have numerous customizing choses like which eyes, nose, mouth, boots, shoes, pants, jacket they will have among many more. Additionally, it is now possible to write text on the clothing of wrestlers or put tatoos on your wrestler. After that you can also select and save your own set of moves. With all this you can personalize your own fighting hero who just might happen to have some of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Moves and The Rock’s signature move.

"Duel to the Yield"

"Tag-Team Matchup!"

This game also has somewhere around 40 pro wrestlers that you can choose from, each with their own moves. The Rock and his Elbow Drop, or Chyna with her Low Blow. WWF Attitude also has each of the characters Entrances and music. The one that was most interesting was Kane’s entrance. It is a great montage of fire and lights that everyone will enjoy. Another great thing added into this game is Other Player Interference. You’re in the middle of the match when all of the sudden Chyna comes from nowhere and helps you fight your opponent like you see on TV.

Of course this feature only gets better, not only do characters come in; you can choose which ones you want to come in with which character. With about 400 individual moves, it could be a little hard to try to learn to play many characters. Playing as one character and learning all of their moves might be the best way to go.

One thing missing in the game is an announcer and they don't talk to each other like on TV, they don’t seem to respond to each other very well. One might say, “Kane is a really great player” while the other one would follow up with something like, “Great move”. That seems more like a computer talking about moves and not like the announcers of the real WWF.The voices of the featuring announcers in the game are Jerry "The King" Lawler and Shane McMahon. Jim Ross is the other announcer usually not Shane.

The graphics are quite good from a distance, you will be able to spot who is who. But the graphics when you come up close could be improved upon. They made this game so well that it seems like you are actually in the arena. The sound quality is much better than you could imagine. The entrances of each character also add more realism into the game.

In the Wrestling show the people have music playing while they enter the ring with their signature entrance, One of the greatest things is the realism of it not only you get the fire and music but you even get the stance of each wrestler when they enter. That will put you right in the wrestling atmosphere.

With 400 moves, 40 wrestlers, 7 title belts to win, around 20 modes of play, creation of your own character, and more; who could pass up a game like this. It does have its flaws, like the announcers not communicating with each other too well about the game. But it also has its great features like character entrances and signature moves, not to mention the in depth creation of your own wrestler. WWF Attitude is the ultimate game for all of the die-hard wrestling fans, and it is the greatest wrestling game on the market as of now.
