Developed by 3DO,Which also brought us the Heroes of Might and magic series, Crusader : Might and Magic and the Battletanx series continue their work with Army Men : Sarge's Heroes inspired by the Army Men. Army Men : Sarge's Heroes allows you to play as plastic toy soldiers. The action occurs in a plastic world similar to the one in the recent movie Toy Story. Your green plastic soldiers are at war with General Plastro's toy soldiers. As with any good villain, General Plastro pursue his goal to dominate the world. To realize his goal of world domination, General Plastro finds a way to travel to our world and now he is using our weapons and technology to destroy his enemies. It is up to Sergeant Sarge and his team to try and stop the evil General from accomplishing is goal. The game is done in a plastic world kind of. In the plastic world all soldier have the same height but in the real world the same soldier are only 3 inches tall. Each character has their own abilities: Sergeant Hawk (aka Sarge) who has the best skills. Colonel Grimm is an old veteran and command Bravo's company. Riff is an expert with Bazookas, Hoover is the demolition expert, Sharp is a mortar specialist, Thick uses a machine gun and Scorch has a flame thrower which come in handy for melting your enemies. Nice little green soldier! equipment such as tank, helicopter and some other heavy machinery. There are 14 different levels and each one has 5 objectives. All together you can use up to 13 different weapons, they vary from paint spray to sky missiles plus several others like these. You have also a multiplayer mode which support up to 4 players. There is not a lot of violence in this game because your character does not die in a blood bath but they simply melt because they are made of plastic. the problem lies in this game with the control. First it is hard to kill an enemie close by you need to back off a little to get a better aim. the camera is always a step behind you witch is very frustrating because if you do a quick movement well you have to wait for the camera so this takes all the fun out of playing actually. The graphics are done to give us the impression that we are living in their plastic world not ours there fore the graphics might look odd to you. the small plastic soldiers are well design covered with a shiny green plastic. the sound is well blend with the actions through out the game. Army Men: Sarge's Heroes is a fun action game that is based on little green plastic soldier that has a frustrating control problem will keep you from enjoying this game to his fullest. |
