Mario and his friends are back!

Developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo, Mario Party 2 is a really fun game to play with Mario and his friends.

The story is quite amusing. Mario, Luigi, Wario, Peach, DK and Yoch were talking, then someone suggested they create an amusement park that would combine all the powers and abilities of each one. Then Mario Land was created.

But no one liked that name. Wario wanted it to be call Wario Land, Peach wanted to call it Peach Land and so on. Meanwhile, Bowser takes control of Mario Land.

The adventure has begun, the player who defeats Bowser will give his name to the land. Our mission: defeat King Koopa and finish the game in first position.

When you play you can choose between 5 lands.  The Pirate Land, Western Land, Space Land, Mystery Land, and Horror Land. Then you'll need to choose how many players will play, your characters, how many turns you want to play (20, 35 or 50), and the level of difficulty when you play against the computer.

Each land adventure features a unique theme and the characters dress differently depending on where they are playing.

A die needs to be rolled in order to determine who will start first. The highest number begins.

The main goal of the game is to collect as many stars as possible before the game is finished. These stars are given by Toad through the land and he moves around when you collect a star. A new feature in Mario Party 2, hidden blocks pop up around the land so you can discover different items.

Many items are used in the game. Like Mushrooms which give us two dice to roll for one turn, a skeleton key to open door, teleportation die, a magic lamp that brings us directly to Toad and many more.

One neat feature in this game is all of the 64 mini-games that you can also play. Like playing in a two-on-two game where you fly through rainbow rings.  A mini-game is played after each turn between all of the players. It is a good way to collect more gold pieces so you can buy items to help you beat the others.

The mini-games are very fun and are also not too complex. The Special Quest mode give you the opportunity to play by yourself with the computer.

Toad will announce the winner at the end and the one with the most stars is declared the Superstar. You will also be able to see a display of your statistics.

The graphics in the game are good and of the same type as the other Marios, but they are not exceptional. The goal of the game can become repetitive with time.

The soundtrack of Mario Party 2 will put you in a good ambiance. You will also notice that the characters will be dressed differently according to which land they are in.

Mario Party 2 is a good game that will amuse your entire family and especially the fans of Mario.
