Our favorites babies go on a new adventure for N64 |
| With the
possibility offered by the new consoles, several video
games inspired by animated television have come out, such
as South Park, Superman. In Rugrats: Scavenger hunt, the
latest of this kind, you must control one of the
characters from the series and play in one of the 3 games
that the imagination of the babies in the series have
created. Rugrats starts initially with a marvelous introduction which introduces the characters to us a little bit and puts us in mood of the game. Then, the imagination of the babies takes you into 3 different games. In the Angelica Temple of Gloom game, which you can play from 1 to 4 players, you must collect broken parts of an Aztec statue before Angelica. This game lasts approximately 20 minutes. Then, there is the Pirate Treasure Hunt, where you are in competition against the others babies to find treasures under water. This lasts 20 minutes also and it is for 2 to 4 players. Finally, there is the Reptar Rally mode for 4 players only and you must find candies for an odd little dinosaur. In each game, there are different special objects which enable you to do different things, like sleep for example.

 Even the cruel Angelica is there! This game is made especially to the fans of the series and to younger players. When you play alone, you have much less pleasure than with your friends and it is much longer between each character. Despite of the three different games, the game resembles itself too much and there are no big differences between each game. Once you have played a little bit, the game can be repetitive. The control is not very good. In fact, it is easier to control the characters with the control pad than with the control stick. The universe of the series was very well recreated: the characters speak and have the same voices as in the series and the 3D graphics are very good. The majority of the characters of the series can be found in this game and you can control 4 different characters. This game is best with several players to have fun with your friends and also, a game can be rather long, so you can play only 2 or 3 games with your friends and you time will fly. Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt represents the series very well but is made for a young audience. I am sure that all the fans of this series will very well appreciate Rugrats with its characters resembling those of the series very well and who speak with the same voices as in the televised series. |
