LADYDRAGON.COM - Star Wars -Episode I- Racer

Lucas Arts is coming again with another Star Wars game. But this time, its not the same as the others. X-Wing vs Tie Fighter and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron where simulations mix with action.Star Wars Racer, like the name says, is a racing game. Its no longer you against the dark forces, but you racing against the other movie characters.

You begin by chosing what would you like to do. You can do a tournement, a free play, a time race or a 2 player challenge. After this, you chose your pilote. You can take Anakin Skywalker, the hero of the Pod sequence in the movie,or one of the 20 Podracers. Then you find the track you like to race on. You have to choose one of the 25 tracks who are on 8 different worlds. On those track, you can travel on many different terrain like ice, sand or in anti-gravity tunnels. When you win a lot of races, you begin to disqualifie some other racers.

Even if you are in a jet, he will respond many ways depending on what you are flying because you are only at several feets from the ground.

The vehicules are very specials. They are like two horse chariots. You are pull by two big reactors. You can buy, with your Truguts, some stuff to upgrade your vehicules after you win a race.

Unfortunatly for the fans of Star Wars, the goal of the game is not to rescue the univers. Its only a good game of racing. The maniacs of Star Wars will at least be able to recognise some elements in the games.This game was build to catch a bigger part of the market, as the lover of speed.

But it is a racing game with hyper-speed, where you can go up to 600 mph and where the control is perfect, you can turn your vehicules on him self to pass in somes crevices.The 3D graphics on N64 are fast and unseen before.

This game will certainly have a lot of success like the movie. Its a game to have if you love Star Wars or simply the speed mix with a graphical #1 quality and an excellent control.
