The first baseball game from EA Sports on N64

This year, a lot of baseball games made their appearance in Nintendo 64. For the first time, the publisher EA Sports with the assistance of the developer Treyarch released their famous game of baseball Triple Play for Nintendo 64. Choose your team and the opposing team and playball!

Like most of the baseball games on the market, TP2000 has a license with the leagues of baseball so it has the 30 current teams of baseball and more than 700 players with their statistics and their picture. You can play in 4 different modes, there is the season mode, simple match, home run challenge or the world series. Moreover, there is an option which enables you to create new players, to change their attributes and to put them in your favorite team. But you can't save these players so you have to recreated them all over if you want them again. You can change several options before the match, like the speed of the game, the difficulty and even the temperature.

When we play, Triple Play goes sometimes too quickly and other times, it is too slow. It is too slow before each ball is pitched by the pitcher since you must wait until the player has finished his movements. And when the player hits the ball, the play is too quickly, you don't have really time to see the ball going.

Strike three, you're out!

Ouch! that's gotta hurt!

Sometimes the game slowed down and it is more difficult to play. The computer is very difficult to beat, especially in more difficult levels. The players in the field are hard to control and it is difficult to catch the ball while diving. Some times, the defensives plays are not realist, as when a player waits to catch a "fly", he doesn't seem ready to catch the ball.

What makes the force of this Triple Play is the sound and the music. When the team is home, there is music before each player goes to bat, as in a true match and when you strike an home run, the crowd screams during a few moments. The advertiser says even the name of all the players! When the other team starts to take a lead, some spectators encourage you or tell you silly things. Then, the graphics of this game are excellent and animations are generally successful. It's very easy to hit the ball and you can hit it the way you want it.

For their first game of baseball on Nintendo 64, EA Sports has nevertheless made a success of Triple Play 2000. This game has very good graphics and the sound as well as the music are excellent. You can also create your own players and put them identical to you or your friends. If you like baseball and that you like games which have good sound effects, Triple Play 2000 is made for you.
