Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding

Developed and published by Microsoft Games Studio, Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding is the first snowboarding game to focus on freestyle riding and it is done exclusively for the Xbox.

There are 3 game mode to choose from Quick Race, Career Mode and Multiplayer.

In Multiplayer you can play with up to 4 players. The quick Race puts you right away into the action where you can practice your skills.

In the Career Mode, you start as a snowboarder that no one knows and your goal is to capture the interest of the Media in order to become a Superstar.

During a run you will see people like Boarders, Sponsors, Photographers or Filmmakers checking your style, every time you get near them,  the camera overlay will appear meaning it is time for you to perform tricks.

On your Screen there is the Media Observers Icon that will indicate to you, your Media Points, your Media Point Meters and the Media Points to beat.

Your character has 5 skills like Spin, Balance, Jump Speed and Switch where you attribute certain amount of points to them.

You can also choose your clothing like Hats, Goggles, Pants, Coats and your Gears like Snowboards, Boots, Bindings and your Stance.

There is different Challenges to do like the High Score, Media, Sponsor, Pro and Explore. The more successful you get the more items you can unlock.

You can ride on real mountain resorts like the Utah's Brighton, Vermont's Stratton and California's Snow Summit. Plus Chris Gunnarson a world-renowned terrain architect designed 4 international fantasy venues for you to explore.

In total there are 1500 jumps and rails on 80 wide-open mountains runs.

Amped is done much more like a sim then an arcade snowboarding game therefore it makes the game hard. You will find that you need a lot of patient and time in order to beat the AI.

After you have master the controls you will find that this is a fun game to play with the wide range of mountains and hidden place to explore.

Graphically, the mountains and runs are very well designed.

The soundtrack is compose of over 220 songs but you can listen to your favorite songs that you have on your hardrive if you want too.

Even though the Gameplay is hard, Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding offers a refreshing and fun game for the fans of snowboarding.
