Developed by 989 Sports and published by Sony, with NBA Shootout 2003 not only you can play the NBA but you will start your career in the Summer League.

In your main menu you can choose between Select Game, Customize, Rosters, Statistics and User Records.

In Select Game you can choose between Practice, Exhibition, Season , Playoffs and Career.

In season, a New season can be made up of 28, 56 or 82 games and it also include an All-Star game. If your team qualifies as one of the top 8 teams in your Conference, it will advance to the Playoffs and compete for the NBA Championship.

In Career, you begin by creating your player then you will start playing in the Summer League games until you accept a contract offer. if you refuse contract offers, you will continue your Career in the NBDL until you accept a contract in the NBA.

In Customize you can Create and Edit your Player, Create Dunk and adjust some Options and Game Rules the way you prefer play the game.

In Rosters you can view and alter the roster of every NBA team but a team can have a maximum of 15 so if you want to sign a Free Agent you need to release a player first.

In Statistics, you can view the stats of players, team leaders, standing and comparison between players or team.

In User Records enable you to keep track of all records and results of games between players, teams, and user vs. user.

You can also view the making of SO2K3 where you will hear member of the development team like Brian Pinz explaining how they made the game.

Beside the new career mode there is the Create a Dunk feature where you can create your favorite Dunk with one or two hand or anyways that you want too and incorporate it in your game.

Although you can create your own player, the graphics of the players could be improve on.

You will find the control simple though you can easily cause a foul but sometimes under the net you seams to get stuck and not able to move.

But where the game stands out is with the depth of the career mode since you start your career at the beginning in the Summer League then climb up depending on your performance up to the NBA.

NBA ShootOut 2003 will provide basketball fans this unique career mode combines with a multiplayer mode to give you many hours of Gameplay.
