When you start your game you can either create a profile or not then you can select what game mode you would like to play. There is Quick Game where you choose your team and can play right away, In Exhibition you play a one match format where you choose your team, your league and your opposite team. In Competitions you can play a National Season, Special Competitions or International Competitions,
In the National Season you can compete in the English, Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian, German, Scottish, Belgian and Portuguese seasons and compete for the championship of each country. In the International Competition you enter and see if your team has what it takes to win it all in pursuit of the ultimate trophy. In Special Competitions, it allows you to play as or against classic clubs from the past as well as customize your own league and tournament giving you complete control of your soccer schedule. You can even play with up to 8 of your friends in some competitions. In Customs Teams, you will be able to create brand new team and alter the existing teams. In the Trophy Cabinet, you will see the numbers of trophies you have won at each difficulty level.

Since World Tour Soccer 2002 is officially license by the FIFPro International, it has over 300 teams, 5000 players that can perform 800 motion captures animations and 9 different stadiums throughout the world where you can play day or night games with different weather conditions. The comments during the game are done by Peter Drury, he does a good jobs in drawing you into the game but the comments can be a bit repetitive. The AI is good but it could be improve in some plays, you will notice that when you play a close formation in the back and you just got the ball and there is a player very close to you he does not seams to know where to go and he just follow you for a short time. But where World Tour Soccer 2002 will catch your attention in its fast action and fun Gameplay. The second you start to play everything moves fast so right away you are immerse in the game plus the fact that the control are easy to use makes it is quite amusing to play.
You can control your player easily even if you never played soccer before. The control allows also to do more then just run around, you can perform a variety of moves like high-flying headers, bicycle kicks, slide shots, hard tackles, hurdles and 360* spins. World Tour Soccer 2002 has a lot of dept with the game modes and all the teams to entertain you for a long time even if you never played soccer before since the controls are easy to use. |
