Prepare yourself to be scared!

A game with the Aliens license appears for the PC. It is after a few movies and success that the decision to make an action game based on the movies. The fans of the motion pictures will be really happy because it is not a simple killing game but a game that will take you in some imaginary world that you have probably see in the movie.

You can play like a Marine highly armed and you can use you flair to light up the dark rooms that are sticky most of the time and where you will find enemies with acid blood that can make everything break. You can kill them with your rifle or even your grenade launcher. If you chose to be an Alien you can move like a spider on the wall or on the top and walk at a fast speed. But you have to be very close to your enemy to kill them. For the Predators, they have the cloak advantage. They can hide everywhere.

The three type of characters have special vision to see in the dark. But be advised that if you are a Marine for example, and you use your intensifier in a room with light you will have a white light. With the Predator or the Marine you have the choice of some weapons that will certainly impress you. For example the SADAR rocket with its big orange nuclear mushroom is very destructive. You will pass through 40 levels that are mostly in dark. Do not think that you will find friendly creatures in those hostile environments full of angry creatures. Your species need you to accomplish the missions given to you, do your best and remember that one false move will make you the victim. You only have three options, chase, hide or advance. If this does not work with you, your life time will not be long. This maybe seem scary but it is the atmosphere of the game. You are completely in the story. But most important, do not hesitate.

Aliens vs. Predator

"Acid blood."

Aliens vs. Predator

"An Alien in the dark "

You will be in strange places where the only thing in common is the hostility. Those places can be changed with your weapons, like your flame gun or even write something on the walls with your rifle. You have a total liberty, you can look everywhere, jump, climb and crouch, everything is possible. If you see some light, that will happen only a few times, you can put it off by shooting on it.

The high level of difficulty of this game is not really a big problem. But this little problem mixed with the restricted possibility of saving only at the end of missions can make life very difficult. Sometime you are at the end of a mission and then boom! You are back to the beginning of the level. Frustration will probably take advantage of you. It should have the possibility of saving in the middle of a level.

The visual effects are exceptional. The details are very precise and all the pleasure you have when using a weapon that make fantastic explosions is really hot. But even more, the possibility of playing with three different species give you more sensations and hours of gameplay. You will also find a type of unit you like more than the two others. The action is excellent and non-stop. In addition to that the Aliens story adds more interest. It is a really simple game but not a "kill everything moving around" one.

Aliens vs. Predator is a really good game full of action even if it is frustrating sometimes because of the saving process. The story continues and we want to be sure that it continues for a long time but we have enough stuff for a while with this war between three species fighting each other.
