You can't lose a man.

This game was developed by the Pyro Studios and distributed by Eidos. Most of the players know Eidos from Tomb Raider and a lot of others great games like Commandos. This time, Eidos came in force again with the second Commandos game, Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty.

The action is happening in 1940 near the La Manche river when the Axis forces are dominating all of Europe. The German army, who is stopped by this river is bringing all its forces to prepare for the invasion of England. That's where you and your team come in. You are a commando who must destroy the enemy forces with subtlety, not provoking a war that will mess up all your projects.

In this game, the only thing that's not cool is a lot of obstacles that stop you. You can't choose where you want to go and how you will kill the guards. There's only one good way of doing it. You are force to do it the way the developer has decided it. Of course you cannot shoot behind them. The 3D graphics are not the greatest I ever seen. You can judge for yourself with the screenshot below.

"You can use some vehicles."

"Welcome in town!"

This game looks a lot like the other episode of Commandos but the graphics are, of course, better and there is four new weapons like the ether, the matrix, a sniper gun and you can use your hands to punch. There's also a woman who can use her lipstick to seduce an enemy. The story is also different. You are now fighting against the Gestapo, the german secret police.

Before each mission you have a briefing, like most games.  But this one is special, he will tell the true story of 1940 and show you what you can use to succeed in your mission, all in beautiful images.

When you start your mission, you have to remember that you can not lose one of your men. You have to save your game a lot of the time.  After this you need to use the obstacles to hide your self from the guards before all the militia come after you.

Finally, to play this game you will need a lot of patience and courage, but if you don't have these skills like me you only need to like commandos and you will like this game. If you like the first Commandos you will appreciate this one even more.
