Dominant Species

This time, humans are the alien

Dominant Species is unique in the fact that this time HUMANS are the invasion.  This new slant on things is one of the new twists that this game offers.

Much like Command and Conquer or Starcraft, you are in command of your armies and it's production.  What makes this game unique is it's all done in true 3D.  If you have a 3D card you will be in for a treat.  If not, you are gone need some computing horsepower to play this game.

The interface is interesting and fairly easy  to learn.  The game comes with a series of easy tutorials that get you into the interesting way it does things.  Needless to say, if you have ever played Starcraft or Command n Conquer, you will pick it up very fast.

The games graphics are it's best feature and it's biggest problem as you will see if you play the game on a lower-end system.

Stupid humans

THIS is your army?!

The character design is simply great and a lot of fun just to watch.  The animation is very good and VERY original.

The downside is if you don't have the horsepower to run this game, it slows down to nothing during a large battle.

The landscape is a little bleak but it does not distract from the gameplay much. The sounds are nice too, having a very other worldly feel to them.

The game features Internet play so multi-player games should be a blast . If you like C&C like games, you will like this very unique game.

I unique turn in real time strategy games. If your looking for a good RTS game, but are getting tired of the same thing in a  new box, then this is a good game to look into.
