Be a Commander in Star Wars !

Star Wars: Force Commander is the latest strategy game done by Lucas Arts.

The game offers you 2 game mode to choose from Single or Multiplayer.

The Single mode is divided into Campaign, Skirmish and Scenario.

Campaign is the main mode where you start with training mission then when your ready you will be able to move on to the briefing room then to the Hangar Bay in order to select your landing force that you want to start the game with.

Your Force is under attack

You will start with a long introduction movie to show where you are at in the battle.

Skirmish allows you to practice your skills or to prepare yourself for the Multiplayer mode. You can also set it up to play against 1 or 3 Druids on either a Campaign or a Multiplayer map of your choice.

Scenario mode lets you replay the missions that you already have completed in the campaign mode.

The Multiplayer mode allows you to play up to 4 players.

When you start the game you have in front of you an interface that they call BHCI which stands for Battlefield Holographic Control Interface. Well that is where the problem starts.

Searching for the Enemy

Move your troupes

First the menu is quite dull to look at. It is gray and black then the icon of their respective things makes no sense specially if you are a visual person. Like the Patrol icon looks more like an aiming icon then a Patrol. Because of that it is very hard to remember what is what.

Then there is the view to play that is oddly done. When you play a strategy game you see what is going on from the top but in this game you see it like in an horizontal way meaning if your troupes advance forward toward a mountain and their is enemies behind well you are done because they see you and you do not. It is very annoying not to see so the more you play the more it frustrates you. Also there is no extensive Configuration like the sound and the video setting.

Then their is the graphics they are good if you zoom on something specific or else you will see that the characters or the buildings are properly  well define.

Prepare yourself for battle

But you have a nice full introduction at the beginning to plunge you in the game. The music is good and the voices when spoken are heard clearly.

Star Wars Force Commander good of been a much better game if done in an other way compare the other strategy games out on the market it does not stands out beside the fact it is a Star Wars game.
