Become a Giant in an Industry !

Would you like to be an entrepreneur? Do you have what it takes? Interactive magic and JoWood Productions brings us Industry Giant, a real-time strategy game about the development of an industry. In the beginning, I immediately thought about the classic "Sim city." But this time, you are an entrepreneur who is trying to economically dominate an industry.

Setting up a game is fast and easy. You have the choice between three types of games: Single mission, Scenarios or Normal. You also have the choice of three levels: Easy, Intermediate or Advanced or you can even create your own configuration.

What I found the most interesting in this game is the competition aspect because before the game starts, you have to choose an opponent. You're given a list of characters and each of these characters have predefined settings. Some are slow movers, some aren't. Some are young, some are old...etc. you have to make a choice ! And then, there is one other thing you have to decide before you start, which period to play in - somewhere between 1960 and 2060.

Next, you decide which industry you want to develop and dominate. You have some more choices now: wood industry, electronic industry, sport or toy industry...and so on. The icon-based interface is really intuitive and easy to use if it's your first time. Now that this decision is made, you can build streets, bridges, tunnels, stores, or buildings. The land has different degrees of slopes that you have to modify if you want to expand and sometimes you'll have to demolish whatever is on the land before you can stretch your boundries.

When you begin, you have a "perspective view," and then you can rotate things so you can modify your angle of view. However, there is something missing in this title: the possibility of playing with another human player. For now, you can only play against the computer. Finally, if you want to you can create your own scenarios with an editor that is included in the game.

When you get your first contact, you may not be sure if you'll be able to do something interesting with it, but with a little effort and patience, you'll find a use for every resource available. There is enough stuff in this game for hours of fun !
