Hocus Pocus and all that!

Simon & Schuster Interactive in collaboration with Knowledge Adventure proposed here a game based on the popular television show, Sabrina the teenage witch. You're a magic adept, but do you what it takes to help Sabrina in her misadventure!

The introduction makes the first contact between the characters and the player. For those who don't know the characters, it's a good way to know them, if you already know them, then it will put you in the game. Once the introduction is finish you enter your name and the game start... An animated sequence describes the story and tells you what you have to do.

Sabrina wants to know a spell that will make her relation with Harvey stronger. Then her cat, Salem, makes her repeat a spell, but when she does it, her mother call and she does a mistake that transform her into a pumpkin or a soccer ball, etc.

Now you must find all the ingredients needed to make an antidote. The recipe can be find in the spell book. You will have to repeat these steps seven times.

During your adventure, you will be guide by Drell. In the spell book you will find all the information you need to know. You can access to the spell recipes. You also have information in your learner's permit and about the magic tools... You better inform yourself very well, cause if you use the wrong magic tool

on the wrong object, you can be taken straight to the other realm.

To come back, you have to participate to some games or resolve an enigma. Once you will have gone through all the seven adventures, you will obtain your witch's license!

The interface is very user-friendly. There's a crystal ball where Sabrina encourages you and gives you helpful hints. Then you can also access the magic tools to be use on different objects. Finally, you can reach the spell book.

I really appreciate the way the subject was exploit. It's not easy to make a game interesting when it's based on a television show, but they did. On the other hand, I would like to say that some animations are a bit long and they can't be cut. Also, don't touch to the ESC key, it will close the application without any notice.

The game feature the voices of the original characters of the hit tv series. The pictures are drawn not filmed. The graphics are pretty good and so are the sound and the music. A catchy music take you from the beginning to the end. The text are very clear and easy to understand.

You don't need to be between 8 and 12 years old to appreciate this game (as it's written on the box), you will appreciate the game even more if you're a fan of the tv series!
