Dell
invited LadyDragon to see their new products at
the Montreal National Home Show

LadyDragon
was invited to see Dell's new products at the Montreal National
Home Show where Dell
showcase their new products like the Inspiron
series, XPS series, Alienware, and their new
Crystal monitor.
LadyDragon
spoke with Dell's National Director Michel
Lagace. Dell was at the Montreal Home Show for
the second year. The presence of Dell at the
Montreal Home Show last year was so succesful
that Dell decided to come back again.
M. Lagace
started by explaining Dell's policies to
LadyDragon. Not only they have top of the line
insurances when you buy a Dell computer like
replacing and reparing it, they also recycle your
old Dell computers because they care about the
environment.
On
June 28, 2006 Dell announced their plan to
provide free recycling of any Dell-branded
product for consumers around the world as part of
its new global recycling policy.
"We have a responsibility to
our customers to recycle the products we make and
sell," said Michael Dell, chairman of Dell.
"Our direct relationships with consumers
allow us to offer this easy and free service and
we encourage others in our industry to do so as
well."
Dell currently offers consumers
no-charge recycling of any brand of used computer
or printer with the purchase of a new Dell
computer or printer. This service includes home
pick-up of the used computer at no charge.
Under its new policy, Dell will
provide consumers with no-charge recycling of any
Dell-branded product, regardless of whether a
replacement product is purchased. The company
plans to launch the service in the U.S. by
September, and globally by November. It is
currently available in Canada and Europe. Dell
has been focused on developing market-driven
consumer recycling services for several years.
"Dell is setting the standard
for the industry with this new policy," said
Kate Krebs, executive director of the National
Recycling Coalition. "Recycling of used
consumer electronics remains a challenge and Dell
is taking concrete steps to remove the barriers
of cost and inconvenience for consumers."
Today Dell offers product recovery
services to business and institutional customers
in most of its major markets including Europe and
North America. The company expands product
recovery services on a country-by-country basis
as its business grows. Dell's Asset Recovery
Services, offered to business and institutional
customers, provides reverse logistics, value
recovery and reporting.
Information about Dell's Canada
consumer recycling offer and Asset Recovery
Services is available at www.dell.ca/recycling and Dell's new global
recycling policy can be viewed at www.dell.com/environment
But the best
part is that they have is a program called " Plant a Tree
for me"

Dell first
launched the program in January 2007 to provide
customers the opportunity to plant trees to
offset the CO2 emissions related to the use of
their computer systems. We partner with the
Conservation Fund and Carbonfund.org for this
project. As previously announced, 100 percent of
donations received by Dell go toward
tree-planting efforts.
Our success
in addressing climate change, energy depletion
and other global challenges ultimately depends on
our ability to empower and inspire the
ReGeneration,
people of all ages who care about the
environment, said Tod Arbogast, director of
sustainable business at Dell. Programs like
Plant a Tree for Me provide a simple
and tangible way to make a difference.

RED products
was also showed so that visitors could learn more
about Dell's RED Program

(RED) was
created by Bono and Bobby Shriver, Chairman of
DATA to raise awareness and money for The Global
Fund by teaming up with the world's most iconic
brands to produce (PRODUCT)RED branded products.
A percentage of each (PRODUCT)RED product sold is
given to The Global Fund. The money helps women
and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.

What's the
meaning of the parentheses or brackets? Well, we
call them "the embrace." Each company
that becomes (RED) places its logo in this
embrace and is then elevated to the power of red.
Thus the name -- (PRODUCT)RED.
