Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon

Developed by Ronin Entertainment and published by Universal Interactive, Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon is done exclusively for the Xbox and is an fighting - adventure game where you play the role of the legendary martial artist Bruce Lee.

Bruce Lee, recently retired from the British Secret Service, has been called back to duty to aid in investigating the Black Lotus, an underground organization that is involved in international weapons smuggling.

It is also personal for Bruce since to avenge her father's death Chai Wan at the hand of Bruce, the leader of the Black Lotus the Dragon Lady has kidnapped Bruce's father and seized the mystical Golden Relic, the repository of ancient martial arts secrets.

During your quest you will travels through 40 areas around the world like Hong Kong and San Francisco.

You will face more then 30 different enemies each with different AI routines where enemies surprise, surround and ambush you. Also they all have their own style of fighting like Natascha - Shaolin Dragon, Victoria - Shaolin Crane, Rhianna - Kick Boxing, Kai Sato - Tae Kwon Do,Oshi - Kenpo, Tabitha - Shaolin Tiger.

When you start you only have basic skills like punch and kick has you progress you can purchase more items and moves. The way it works is that after you have defeated an enemy, Coins or Tokens will be dropped for you to pick up.

The Coins allows you to buy advance ranking abilities. The ranking is loosely based on the eight proficiencies of the Jeet Kune Do system.

Jeet Kune Do does not have any ranks or color-coded symbols so to better visualize your ranking they have depicted them has colored Yin-Yan symbols; Novice, Orange, Purple, Blue, Green, Red, Black and Dragon Master.

As for the Token it allows you to use the Dragon Power when you use it, your enemies are unable to block and you sustain minimal damage.

After an area is complete you will see a menu giving you information like how many items you have picked up and how many enemies you have defeated. It is from there that you can make purchases if you wish too.

There are in total more then 100 moves that you will be able to do that has been done by a student of Bruce Lee, Ted Wong that is why you will be able to perform Signature Attack like the Super-fast punches, Super-fast kicks, Scissor kicks, Running-up-chest scissor kick, power drive and Dragon punch. Plus you will be able to do Nunchaku fights.

Unfortunately there are a few elements that needs to be improve to make this game better. First the loading, too much loading that takes at least 10 second all the of  time,  it really kills to momentum when you play.

The control needs also to be improve because there is only one setting and it is badly done on top of it. First you should be able to choose each button function as you please at the very least do the basic punch or the kick with the L and R trigger instead of the top button.

The Gameplay needs more dept because it is very repetitive plus the Nunchaku fights would be more fun if you could choose to fight with them and other opponent fights back with it more often.

They also need to add a Multiplayer mode of some sort.

Like I said before the motion caption is done by his student Ted Wong is quite good and adds to the game this special cachet that makes Bruce a fighter different from one out there.

At this point and time Universal Interactive has confirm to us that no decision have been made concerning if they will do or not do an other game with the license Bruce Lee name but we will keep you posted. Hopefully they will do an other game and improve on the point I made in order to do long and good franchise.
