Developed and published by EA Sports, this year MVP Baseball 2003 feature on the cover # 4 Miguel Tejada from the Oakland Athletics,  who won the American League MVP and # 51 Randy Johnson from the Arizona Diamondbacks who took home the Cy Young Award.

In the main menu you can select Play Now if you want to jump into a game right away. In Game mode you can choose between Franchise mode where you manage every aspect of your team from signing a player to choosing your starter.

In Season mode you can play a full season of 162 games or smaller one like 60, 30 or 15 games plus more options that you can set as you wish.

In the Tournament mode you can select a Round Robin + Playoffs where if a team survives the Round Robin, it advances to the Playoffs or Playoffs where the teams enter directly into the elimination round.

In the Home Run Showdown mode you hit against an other hitter in order to see who can reach the target distance first.

In Roster Management mode you get to create, sign, trade and release players.

Here are the Key Features you can look forward to;

New Pitcher/Batter Interface; Pitching - players must be strategic with their pitches. Throw a nasty curve to a batter's "cold zone" or risk a possible home run by throwing some heat to their "hot zone." Each pitcher will have more effective pitches depending on how accurate those pitches are in real life.

Batting - the quality of the hit will depend on each batter's real life "hot and cold zones," hitter ratings, swing timing and swing type. Look for a high, outside pitch to hit an opposite field fly ball to the corner or swing at a low and inside pitch to pull a grounder down the line.

New AI and Gameplay System; Real-time scouting reports provide accurate player ratings and attributes. CPU opponents react like their real-life counterparts, incorporating strategy and decision-making based on outs, score, inning, pitch count, etc.

First Ever Picture-in-Picture Baserunning; Revolutionary new picture-in-picture baserunning puts the offensive player right in the middle of the action even after the ball has left the bat.

Control of the baserunners allows players to visibly determine whether or not to go for third base on a single to the outfield. On-base views let pitchers keep runners close to the bag.

Robust Franchise Mode; Includes rookie drafts, player development, career-ending injuries, contracts and hirings/firings.

Home Run Showdown Mode; Real-time head-to-head slugfests - battle against a buddy or a computer opponent.

Realistic player models and animations; Multiple body types, player accessories and new head scans - MLB® players look and feel like their real-life counterpart.

All New Throw Meter; Brings risk and reward into defensive play - hold down the throw button longer for harder, higher-risk toss. A quick tap of the button will execute a throw with less speed and more accuracy.

Major League Baseball® Player Council; Expert advice and design input from leading MLB players: Torii Hunter, Trot Nixon, Todd Pratt, Eric Chavez and Tim Hudson.

Expert Broadcasting; In the booth providing play-by-play and color commentary, San Francisco Giants announcers Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow.

Unfortunately you can not play Online hopefully next year it will be possible.

One of the cool feature is that you can actually see the baserunner  that is on base and  run if you hit the ball in play there is a key directly attribute the base that he is but none ahead of the runner so you have to relay the ball on your own.

The graphics are nice and there are many animation during the game.

The AI and the control has been improve and it shows specially with the control of the pitcher where not only you can specify the place of the ball but also decide the accuracy of the throw. As for the Hitter you get to see exactly where the ball has landed plus the speed and what type of pitch it was like 81 mph and it was a slider.

MVP Baseball 2003 is better then ever with the new engine it  really does make this game a solid and good baseball game.
