ACTIVISION BRINGS HIT GAME SHOW TO E3 WITH THE INDUSTRY DEBUT OF THE WEAKEST LINK

Attendees of this year’s E3 will get to face off with television’s harshest game show ringmaster, Anne Robinson, when Activision unveils The Weakest Link for the PlayStation® game console at its booth #946 in the South Hall.

Based on the top-rated BBC television show in the U.K. and the U.S., The Weakest Link gives contestants the challenge of working together to acquire a pool of money before the end of each round by answering a series of questions correctly. Once the round is completed, each contestant must vote the team member they believe to be the weakest link out of the competition, in an aggressive survival-style format, until only one contestant remains. Throughout the game, Robinson caustically exposes contestants’ weaknesses.

Since its April 16 debut on NBC, The Weakest Link has captured the American viewing audience with its fast-paced gameplay, promise of riches and the biting commentary of Anne Robinson. The show consistently won its timeslot in its first three airings during the week of April 16.

The Weakest Link will be available on PC CD-ROM, the PlayStationÒ2 computer entertainment console and PlayStationÒ game console later this year, with the first titles expected to ship this fall in the U.K. and U.S. The game’s brusque host, Anne Robinson, has become a household name with her new catch phrases and sharp commentary. The show has become a part of British and American pop culture and spawned the new catchphrases "You are the weakest link, goodbye" and "It’s time to vote off the weakest link."

The Weakest Link is rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB. This title has not yet been officially approved by Sony Computer Entertainment America.
