3DFusion (3DF) has announced the market launch of its 3DFMax

3DFusion (3DF) has announced the market launch of its 3DFMax, stereoscopic glasses-free, broadcast-ready 3D display platform for AOOH (alternative out-of-home) ad networks at the Digital Signage Expo 2009, February 25-26, in Las Vegas. The company will introduce both a no-glasses 3D Digital Signage Ad Net Kiosk and a Turnkey &ldquo3D in a Box&rdquo platform for non-network applications.

Built upon the
Philips 3D Solutions, 2D Plus Depth format, the 3DF IP enhances and augments existing 3D advancements to achieve a new picture-perfect standard for glasses-free 3D displays, the company said. As a key Philips North American 3D Solutions Provider and Certified Blue Box Content Creator, 3DFusion said it has taken the newly released Philips 3D Solutions WOWvx Media Player to the next level.

&ldquoWhen 3DF coupled its 3DFMax optimizer technology with the latest Philips software upgrade, the results were breathtaking,&rdquo said 3DFusion CEO Ilya Sorokin. &ldquoIn our opinion, the 3DFusion no- glasses stereoscopic 3D is the first and only &lsquoready for Prime Time&rsquo 3DTV.&rdquo

3DFusion&rsquos 3DFMax is a stereoscopic glasses-free, broadcast-ready 3D display platform for AOOH (alternative out-of-home) ad networks.

&ldquoPhilips 3D Solutions deserves all the credit: They baked a great cake; we just added the icing,&rdquo said Steve Blumenthal, president of New York-based 3DFusion. &ldquoThe new release of the Philips 3D Solutions WOWvx Media Player makes the Philips ASD package the &lsquogo to&rsquo market leader in stereoscopic no-glasses 3D.&rdquo

3DFusion has incorporated this historical first-to-market 3D solution into three products: the 3DFusion 3D digital signage, multi-panel kiosk for AOOH ad networks; the 3DF turnkey &ldquo3D in a Box&rdquo platform for all non-network applications; and the planned 3DFusion Artist Guild for 2D to 3D conversion, which is a membership-based Guild dedicated to developing advanced 3D content rendering and conversion tools designed to support the end user.

&ldquoThis initial 3DFusion Broadcast Ready 3D is in its infancy,&rdquo said Blumenthal. &ldquoIt will only get richer, more immersive and captivating. This is the very first of many steps in the art of 3D stereoscopic high-impact imaging. But make no mistake, this is the key first step to deliver glasses-free 3D without the accompanying headache, easily surpassing conventional 2D TV.&rdquo

According to the company, the 3DFusion Digital Signage Ad Net Kiosk and Turnkey platforms are 100 percent compatible with existing ad network installations, performing within conventional 2D specification guidelines. The 3DFusion platform seamlessly replaces 2D systems without additional bandwidth or installation requirements, and it automatically operates as either a 2D or 3D Display, the company added.
