BridgeCo’s JukeBlox 2.1 Connectivity Platform Brings Streaming Music to Mainstream Consumer Electronics Products

BridgeCo Inc. www.bridgeco.com, a leader in consumer electronics connectivity, announces key new features in its industry leading JukeBlox platform. JukeBlox 2.1 technology creates an intuitive music experience for mainstream consumers, using the popular new music streaming applications.

BridgeCo introduced its JukeBlox 2.1 technology on a new turn-key WiFi media module, the CX870, opening up new retail price points for manufacturers by lowering their solution’s bill-of-material costs by 25%. Not only does JukeBlox 2.1 technology offer an impressive 25% cost reduction over prior generations, its new CX870 turn-key WiFi certified module also offers a significant 50% size reduction.

Beyond cost and size reductions and its intuitive user interface, BridgeCo’s JukeBlox 2.1 platform also offers consumers a new simplified network set-up, JB Connect. With JB Connect, accessing music on connected devices and enjoying it throughout the home has never been easier.

JukeBlox 2.1 expands BridgeCo’s market and technology leading JukeBlox platform, which offers an unprecedented feature list for enabling music streaming and offers the industry’s only system-on-a-chip (SOC) processor for networked audio. BridgeCo’s unique DM870 IC integrates up to five ICs into one and includes the industry’s only Software Design Kit (SDK). BridgeCo’s SDK allows customers and design partners to leverage its extensive JukeBlox feature set, while customizing the platform to meet their unique product requirements. The JukeBlox platform features a complete range of audio codecs, Internet radio protocols, popular music applications, a variety of connectivity options and includes all of the industry interoperability standards. JukeBlox 2.1 also features fail-safe firmware updates that allow for new features to be updated over time without hardware changes after consumers own the product.

The CX870 will be production released in April 2011 with samples in Design Kits available in February.
