The Joy Factory Named as CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award Honoree

By LadyDragon

IRVINE, Calif.--(LadyDragon.com)29/11/11--The Joy Factory, Inc., a leader in lifestyle-driven digital device accessories, today announced that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for its Zip Touch-n-go™ Multi-Charging Station. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 32 product categories. The Joy Factory will be exhibiting at CES, Jan. 10-13, 2012 at booth no. 5635.

Zip Touch-n-go Multi-Charging Station features the latest breakthrough in conductive charging technology. Effortlessly combining form and function, the Zip features a sleek black charging pad design with multiple magnetic Mini USB, Micro USB and 30-pin “ZipTail” charging receivers compatible with today’s smart devices.

“The Joy Factory is honored that the Zip Touch-n-go is being recognized for its product design and engineering by this esteemed group,” said Miranda Su, executive vice president of The Joy Factory and consumer electronics veteran. “The Joy Factory designed the Zip to offer consumers the ability to easily charge an arsenal of mobile devices including smart phones, cameras, and e-readers in a way that is modern, effortless and without clutter.”

The Zip Touch-n-go is bundled with ultra-short, tangle-proof ZipTails which are equipped with rounded magnetic chargers at the end and connect to any of the dimpled spots on the main charging pad. It also allows consumers to pick up a phone call immediately without worrying about disconnecting or reconnecting due to cable-length constraints. The device automatically resumes charging as the ZipTail reattaches.

By using a magnetic conductive charging technique and connecting the ZipTails directly to the device, the Zip reduces energy loss and provides a quick charge. And with the included 2100mA power adapter, the Zip Touch-n-go can charge up to three cellular phones at once—or more, depending on the power transformer on the device.

The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. The Best of Innovations honor is awarded to the products with the highest judges’ scores and will be featured in the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase at the 2012 International CES.

The Joy Factory’s Zip Touch-n-go will be displayed at the 2012 International CES, which runs January 10-13, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Honorees will also be displayed at CES Unveiled: the Official Press Event of the International CES from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, January 8 in the Venetian Ballroom of the Venetian.

The Innovations entries are judged based on the following criteria:

  • Engineering qualities, based on technical specs and materials used

  • Aesthetic and design qualities

  • The product’s intended use/function and user value

  • Unique/novel features that consumers would find attractive

  • How the design and innovation of the product compares to other products in the marketplace

Products chosen as an Innovations honoree reflect innovative design and engineering of the entries. Examples may include the first time various technologies are combined in a single product or dramatic enhancements to previous product designs.

Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering honoree products are featured on www.CESweb.org/Innovations, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, designer, description, photo and URL.
