Maria Sharapova wins over Jamie Hampton at the 2012 Australian Open By LadyDragon MELBOURNE, Australia--(LadyDragon.com)19/01/12--Maria Sharapova wins the match in 2 sets, 6-0, 6-1 against Jamie Hampton in 64 minutes at the 2012 Australian Open. Jamie serving first. Jamie starts with an ace and a 40-15 lead but after 3 break points and 7 minutes, Maria breaks, 1-0. Maria holds to 15, 2-0. Again Jamie starts with a lead but Maria gets 2 break points and breaks again for a 3-0 lead. A close game but Maria adds one more game for a 4-0 lead. Maria this time breaks quickly to 15 to now serve for the set after 28 minutes, 5-0. Jamie finally gets 2 break points but after 8 minutes of fighting back Maria wins the game and the first set 6-0 in 36 minutes. All though Maria won the set to Love, they had many close games but Maria always came out on top. Maria breaks and holds to 15 to take a 2-0 lead. 10-0 winners from Maria so far. Jamie showing that she is thinking out there, does a drop shot for 30-15, does it again gets to 40-15 then wrong foot Maria and wins her first game of the match and the crowd applaudes her like she is an Australian, showing Jamie that they appriciate her fighting spirit, 2-1. Unfortunatly for Jamie, Maria is too strong and goes on to win the second set 6-1 in 28 minutes. Maria played very well again today with 23 wiinners compared to 6 for Jamie. |
